A*STAR ARTC Showcases Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing Innovations at ITAP 2025
A*STAR’s Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) took part in the Industrial Transformation ASIA-PACIFIC (ITAP) 2025, held at òòò½ÍøEXPO from 15 to 17 October 2025. As Asia Pacific’s leading trade event for Industry 4.0, ITAP brought together global industry leaders, technology providers, and innovators to explore the latest advancements shaping the future of manufacturing.
At this year’s exhibition, ARTC presented its latest capabilities and solutions under the theme of Smart and Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing (SSAM). Visitors to the ARTC booth experienced cutting-edge demonstrations in areas such as digital manufacturing, robotics, predictive maintenance, and sustainable production – showcasing how innovation and technology can drive efficiency, resilience, and environmental sustainability in manufacturing.
Mr Jeffrey Siow, Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance, visited the A*STAR booth and met with researchers and industry partners who are advancing the future of manufacturing through AI-driven innovations and cutting-edge engineering.
ARTC also shared highlights from ongoing collaborations with industry partners across aerospace, precision engineering, and logistics sectors. These joint initiatives continue to strengthen Singapore’s position as a hub for applied R&D and industry transformation.
In addition, ARTC representatives participated in panel discussions and technical forums, sharing insights on digitalisation strategies, workforce transformation, and the adoption of next-generation manufacturing technologies. Through these engagements, ARTC reaffirmed its role as a key enabler of Singapore’s Smart Manufacturing ecosystem, working hand-in-hand with partners to accelerate technology translation and industrial impact.
Highlights from A*STAR’s booth included:
A collaboration with Mencast Marine Pte Ltd, leveraging additive manufacturing and AI to design marine propellers that are smarter, greener, and more efficient.
A partnership with Abrasive Engineering Pte Ltd (AE) to develop next-generation surface treatment solutions — including the world’s first microwave media dosing unit and an automated sandblasting system that enhances precision, safety, and productivity across industries.
AIMie, a holographic AI agent developed under The Sectoral AI Centre of Excellence for Manufacturing (AIMfg) — an initiative by A*STAR and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore) — demonstrating how human–AI collaboration supports adaptive and resilient factory operations.
