A*STAR Launches New Research Institute to Advance AI, Data and Computing Applictions
Integration of A*STAR’s infocomm and high performance computing research institutes strengthens capabilities for AI applications across industry and researchÌý
SINGAPORE – The òòò½Íø, Technology and Research (A*STAR) today announced the formation of the A*STAR Institute of Advanced Intelligence and Computing (A*STAR IAIC), a new research institute that brings together A*STAR’s strengths in AI, data, digital technologies, modelling, simulation, quantum and high performance computing.
Formed through the integration of the A*STAR Institute for Infocomm Research (A*STAR I²R), and the A*STAR Institute of High Performance Computing (A*STAR IHPC), A*STAR IAIC will support Singapore’s efforts to develop and deploy AI and digital solutions across research, industry and the public sector.Ìý
A*STAR IAIC will strengthen the translation of research into impactful applications, enabling more coordinated and scalable outcomes across sectors.Ìý
A*STAR IAIC begins operations on 1 July 2026. All previous projects by the two research institutes will continue under, and be referenced by the new entity name.
