A*STAR IMRE scientists co-author breakthrough study in Nature Physics

We are pleased to share that Senior Scientist Dr Fabio Bussolotti and Principal Investigator Prof Johnson Goh have co-authored a study recently published in Nature Physics.
Led by Prof Keshav Dani at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, in collaboration with international partners, the study reports the first direct observation of exciton-driven Floquet engineering in monolayer WSâ‚‚.
The research reveals a novel mechanism for tuning electronic structures via excitonic fields, producing Floquet effects that are significantly stronger and longer-lived than those achieved using optical fields alone. This breakthrough opens new avenues for realising novel quantum and topological phases in two-dimensional semiconductors.
The work utilised high-quality WSâ‚‚ monolayers synthesised using A*STAR IMRE’s patented growth technology, and we are proud to contribute to this international effort.
