SUMMARY
Dr. Yu FU is currently a Senior Principal Investigator at IMCB. He received his PhD in Neuroscience from Stony Brook University, New York, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of California, San Francisco from 2011-2015. Before joining IMCB, he led a research group at the òòò½ÍøBioimaging Consortium (SBIC) of A*STAR from 2015 to 2021.

Dr. Fu's research focuses on understanding the neural regulation of energy homeostasis and the mechanisms of plastic change in neural circuits in response to lifestyle changes. His laboratory uses cutting-edge technologies in systems neuroscience research to elucidate the neural circuits regulating energy homeostasis and their plastic changes in response to lifestyle changes.

RESEARCH

Brain Plasticity Group
The rise of modern lifestyles and abundant food sources has led to a mismatch between our evolved eating mechanisms and current environment, leading to a rise in obesity and metabolic diseases. Our research group seeks to understand the complex interplay between genetic and environmental factors that shape neural circuits, influencing behavioral outcomes, energy balance, and metabolic health. By elucidating these mechanisms, we aim to uncover new insights into the development of metabolic diseases and identify potential therapeutic targets for their prevention and treatment.
